An illegal gambling operation is shut down by the Walker County Sheriff's Department.

"We kept getting Crime Stoppers tips and reports coming in from the Walker County District Attorney's office, they were receiving anonymous tips and so was the Sheriff's Department," said Detective K.C. Chitwood.

On Tuesday September 14th, detectives seized over $30,000 and 28 gambling machines from D-J's Gift Shop on Highway 190.

Store employee David Kellogg, was arrested and later released on bond. He faces three charges: Gambling promotion, keeping a gambling place, and possession of gambling paraphernalia. All are Class A misdemeanors.

Detectives are still investigating and say more arrests could be made.
