The City of Bryan is following in the footsteps of College Station Tuesday night after unanimously approving an ordinance banning K-2.

"We stopped selling it at 12 o'clock midnight and I mean we've had a few customers ask about it but I think everybody knows that it's banned and I mean it kind has affected but I don't think it will be that bad," said Megan Etheridge, who works at the Exxon Tigerland Express Store on Wellborn Road in College Station.

"We sell lots of beer, that's mainly what we sell, we sell everything pretty much anything they want the owner buys," Etheridge said.

One thing they aren't selling anymore is K-2 which is similar to marijuana and according to the creator himself, is up to 30 percent more powerful.

The City of College Station banned the substances with a new ordinance that went into effect on Sunday.

On Tuesday night the City of Bryan voted unanimously to ban K-2 and related paraphernalia as well.

"This was recommended by the police department and you know we had many comments I know it was controversial one way or the other, something the council felt was important for the safety of our citizens," said Bryan Mayor Jason Bienski.

The new ordinance makes it a Class C Misdemeanor to use, possess, or sell K2 and it's related products within the city limits and carries a fine up to $2,000.

"They are identical amongst the two cities, the twin cities," Mayor Bienski said.

The new rules go into effect on September 11th.

The people that want this stuff, will just drive to Hearne, Navasota, or any other number of small towns, in the area that are more than happy to supply the demand, for this substance. I sure hope, you and I don't meet one on Hwy 6, after they are high on this mess. I grew up in a small town that was in a so called "dry county". The nearest liquor store was about 30 miles away. I knew quite a few people, growing up, that were killed or injured by the drunks that drove 30 miles to get some more beer, when they ran out.

To Crazy: Yes, WE are the insane ones... You can't even calm down enough to read that it is 30% and NOT 30X stronger than the real thing. You obviously are one of these sheeple that believes everything you hear, as long as its on the news, right? How about trying to think for yourself and perhaps educate yourself on the product before making ridiculous accusations on things you apparently know nothing about.

Chas and Amber please smoke as much of this as you can....in fact you may want to move to a town where it is still legal to purchase..if you will check amber you will find that the facts are correct..and as for you Chas I believe it is illegal for college kids under the age of 21 to possess/consume alcohol...but still please both of you go get a pound of it and smoke it up...
