On Wednesday, Ramiro Padilla was booked into Sandy Point Detention center for making terroristic threats. According to the police report, Padilla called one of the bouncers at Club Upgrade in College Station and threatened to shoot him in the head. His bond was originally set at $100,000. According to jail records, he was released after posting a $2,000 bond.

Police say Padilla is a member of a dangerous gang called Florencia 13. In June, Padilla was arrested for conspiracy to commit murder. According to the report, he was plotting to kill a rival gang member in Washington. Padilla wasn't locked up for long he spent less than a month in jail. And once again, his bond was lowered. This time from $100,000 to $75,000.

The gang police say Padilla belongs to started in California. Florencia 13 is one of the oldest and most dangerous latino gangs. According to Tedris Smith, an FBI Gang Intelligence Agent, the number 13 represents "m," the 13'th letter in the alphabet. It stands for Mexican Mafia.

"They're pretty dangerous. A lot of those guys, at first, were in the California Penal System, then they moved from there."

Other charges on Padilla's rap sheet include deadly conduct and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. For now, he's a free man.

All I know is that I don't let them or anyone else intimidate me. I go about my business and mind my own business. But when they choose to cross the line and mess with my family, then I will meet their challenge. I would rather die trying to defend my life and my property, then live in fear all my life. Brazos County only keeps low risk, typically non-violent offenders locked up for lengthy periods of time. The violent ones and drug related offenders get let out really quickly. Sandy Point is FULL of men sent to jail for child support EVEN though they have been paying and/or attempting to pay. Our "justice" system makes no sense.
