Some furry friends of a Saint did not have to wait till Sunday to be blessed.
Saturday was the Blessing of the Animals at St. Francis Episcopal Church in College Station.
Pets of every species were invited to St. Francis for the annual blessing.
One-by-one dogs, snakes, a donkey, and tortoise received a blessing for overall health and happiness from Reverends John Williams and Anne Cudd.
The event is held once a year in honor of Saint Francis, the church’s patron saint who loved all animals.
"The animal in a sense, are suggesting their blessings too,” Williams said. “I mean they bless the people who own them."
While taking their pets for their special blessings, folks were provided with information on animal adoptions as well as fostering.
