Grant Money for Local Schools

Local school districts are racking up over a half million dollars from the state to prevent drop out rates.

Bryan I.S.D. has been awarded a grant of $338,060.

Calvert and Hearne I.S.D. both get $80,000.

Conroe schools will receive $120,250 and Huntsville I.S.D. gets $150,000.

T.E.A. has to finalize the numbers.

The money is a part of the 16.3 million dollar spent by the state to increase high school and college graduation rates.

Bryan I.S.D. plans to use the money for their GRAD program, better technology and a new parent teacher program.
