Homeless on the Rise

The number of homeless in the Brazos Valley is on the rise, according to a local homeless advocacy group.

Tuesday the Brazos Valley Coalition for the Homeless met with 30 agencies from surrounding counties to discuss what can be done to eliminate the problem.

The group also hopes to help those who are already homeless, get back on their feet.

The Coalition estimates 1,090 homeless people in a seven-county area.

But now, the cause is getting more support than ever.

Ron Crozier of the Twin City Mission says, "We can tell you there's not one single agency that assists with homelessness that can single handedly address all the needs. It takes help from all of the agencies."

The coalition estimate 914 homeless people live in Bryan/College Station.
