The Brazos County Narcotics Task Force now has jurisdiction in Grimes County and added a position to head up the job.

Today, Commissioner's Court approved the request to hire Sim Lucas as assistant commander.

Lucas retired from D.P.S. in February after 32 years in law enforcement.

The money used to fund the position came from a left over grant when College Station police pulled out of the task force.

The task force is eligible for more money from the state because of its new agreement with the City of Navasota.
