The number of West Nile cases identified in Texas this year is nothing like recent past years.
Experts believe the virus is waning in the state.
Brazos County Health officials said people are building immunities to the virus.
Only two pools of mosquitoes this year have tested positive, a big difference from last year's multiple positive samples. But authorities said the virus is a cycle.
"New born babies, new born birds, and new born horses are going to tend to be susceptible to the disease, so after this population of the newborns builds up then you have another possibility of an outbreak," said Don Plitt with the Brazos County Health Department.
There are no local human cases so far, but officials say one possible human case is under investigation.
