The lines are drawn in the College Station Independent School District, and by next year some students there may be going to a different school.
After months of polling residents, the school board made its final vote on a rezoning map Tuesday night. Everything had to be redrawn after the district approved building a new elementary school. Forest Ridge will open its doors next fall and that's when the zoning map will go into affect.
The board also approved a grandfather clause. It will allow next year's fourth, sixth, and eighth graders to stay at their current schools for the year.
