Hundreds of breast cancer survivors gathered at the College Station Hilton Tuesday afternoon in support of breast cancer awareness.
The annual Surviving and Thriving luncheon put on by St. Joseph and Suddenlink brought survivors from all walks of life together in one place.
The event featured guest speaker, Beverly Kirkhart, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul.
"Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul is full of 101 surviving stories," Kirkhart said. "What I am hoping is that this book gives people inspiration and hope to see that other people have gotten through this journey with cancer."
Proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society and the St. Joseph Cancer Center.
