Locals pounded the pavement to pound out hunger.
Ten different groups including some Student Council Members from Neal Elementary took part in the annual Crop Walk Sunday afternoon.
One hundred and seventy walkers and runners completed the three mile course to help end hunger across the world.
Twenty-five percent of the money raised will benefit the Brazos Valley Food Bank and the Brazos Church Pantry.
CROP Walk Committee Member Theresa Mangapora says besides raising money, the walk lets people know that hunger issues are not restricted to third world countries.
"A lot of people that may not get involved in either of those organizations are now a little more aware of the issues in the community and during the holidays they may be apt to do something," Mangapora said.
This year's CROP Walk raised $14,796.
