A mobile home fire has claimed the life of a Washington County man.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the fire broke out about 2 p.m. Monday afternoon in a mobile home park, just north of Independence.
Two volunteer fire departments battled the blaze, but it was not enough to save the life of Robert Moore.
Moore, 78, who had several health problems, was unable to get out of the trailer in time.
Another resident received minor burns and was taken to Trinity Medical Center for treatment.
The fire completely destroyed the mobile home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
