On Sunday, a Great Dane bit a six-year-old boy at Austin Colony Park in Bryan.
Tuesday night, the owner of the dog contacted Bryan Animal Control.
A mandatory 10-day quarantine for rabies is required for any animal that bites a person.
Officials say the owner is being cooperative and didn't realize that the child was injured.
If the Great Dane was not found, the child may have needed post exposure vaccinations.
