A Bryan woman found guilty of child abuse will now serve a year in jail.
Thursday, Judge J.D. Langley sentenced Rosalia Burton to a year in state jail plus a $5,000 fine.
Burton was found guilty in August of injury to a child.
During the trial, Burton's 11-year-old step-son took the stand to testify that she beat him on several occasions.
A pre-sentencing investigation was conducted after the verdict.
Burton will be eligible for probation in 90 days.
