Friends and family are mourning the death of a long-time Brenham city councilman.
Councilman Richard Chinnock died the morning of September 30 after battling a lengthy illness.
Chinnock who was first elected to the council in 1996, was serving his third term.
City administrators said the council must now consider holding a special election to fill the vacant seat.
Services will be held for Chinnock October 2 at 1 p.m. at the Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
