Thousands gathered in a show of support for people with Down Syndrome.
The Annual Buddy Walk got underway Sunday afternoon at Wolf Pen Amphitheater in College Station.
The National Down Syndrome Society created the 'Buddy Walk' to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome.
Money raised through the event held across the country goes toward both local and national programs for education, research, and advocacy initiatives.
Organizers say Sunday’s event had 2,300 participants.
