The Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District is planning another public hearing.

The district voted to pass a redrafted version of proposed rules.

The rules would affect land owners in Robertson and Brazos Counties.

Under the new rules, acreage is tied to production, well spacing requirements in the Sims Borough Formation has changed, and wells also have to be a certain distance from another person's property.

District President Wayne Wilson says the draft rules are a compromise between old rules and what some land owners were asking for.

The new hearing date has not yet been set.
