A Prairie View A&M grad student involved a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning has died.
Michelle Briggs, 36, had been in the ICU at the College Station Medical Center after emergency crews had to pry her from her car about 3 a.m. October 21.
Family members tell KBTX they had planned to have doctors take her off life support by late morning, but Michelle's heart stopped beating about 4:45 a.m. Saturday.
The accident happened on Harvey Mitchell Parkway near West Luther. College Station police say Aaron Somers, 21, hit Briggs' car with his Toyota Tundra, flipping his pickup onto its roof.
Somers currently is charged with intoxication assault and faces up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.
Briggs' family tells us she has two children and that they moved to College Station from Baton Rouge about a year ago so Briggs could get her Ph.D. from Texas A&M, and the kids could be in the College Station Independent School District.
