It will be next week before Texas A&M University president Dr. Robert Gates releases the names of the people who will investigate incidents leading up to July's apartment explosion.

Gates thought he might announce the list of names October 8.

District Attorney Bill Turner recently gave the university the go ahead to form the task force.

Gates said within a week, the task force should start its investigation, focusing on university maintenance and communication.

The university apartment explosion on July 31 killed a four-year-old girl, her grandmother, and injured two other family members.

The State Fire Marshal said a gas leak was to blame. Many of the people who live there were angry A&M workers failed to fix the deadly leak. Since then, the university has replaced or fixed most of the gas lines for the apartment complex.
