A convicted sex offender, who gave police a fake home address, will spend the next eight years behind bars.
Dmarcus Thurman was sentenced Tuesday for failing to register as a sex offender.
The Bryan resident pleaded guilty to the crime Monday.
Thurman, 26, faced other charges including harrassment and criminal trespassing.
Those charges were considered in deciding his punishment.
