Investigators say they don't have much to go on in Huntsville's first murder case of the year.

"We received a call of the shooting and officers responded and EMS as well, and we found a male subject laying lifeless on the bedroom floor," said Detective Ken Foulch.

The incident happened early Saturday morning. Police say 32-year-old Anthony Williams had been shot in the stomach. Authorities say they originally thought he had shot himself because he had a gun in his hand, but later realized that the shot had come through a window.

Williams was taken to Huntsville Memorial Hospital, but could not be saved.

Williams' body was taken to Dallas County for an autopsy and Huntsville police are waiting for the results. They believe Williams was shot once, but the bullet is still in his body.

So far, police have no suspects or motive for the killing. If you have any information on this incident, you are urged to call Huntsville police at (936) 291-5480.
