Bridge Repair to Begin

By: KBTX Staff and TXDot
Updated: Thu 9:03 AM, Oct 14, 2004

Construction will begin Thursday on the repair of bridge beams damaged last Friday at the SH 6 interchange with SH 30 (Harvey Road). Repairs will cost $70,000.

The current lane closure on SH 6 will continue until the repairs are complete.

Additionally, SH 30 (Harvey Road) will require significant capacity reduction as only one lane in each direction will remain open under the damaged bridge. Weather permitting, the repairs to the damaged bridge beams and the required traffic control measures should be completed late next week.

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes during this brief, but necessary, repair. Be prepared to slow down for merging traffic and to stop for construction vehicles entering and exiting from the work area.
