Duct-Taped Child

Police say an Alice day-care center has been closed and the facility's operator faces charges after a child was tied up with duct tape.

Doctors on Thursday checked out the three-year-old boy, as a precaution.

Police are investigating Wednesday's incident at the A-B-C Kittie College Daycare Center.

Investigators are trying to determine why the boy was taped at his ankles and wrists -- and whether it had happened before.

Daycare owner 40-year-old Arleen Aguilar is free on bond after being charged with injury to a child.

Police chief Daniel Bueno says he didn't think such a thing could happen in Alice.

Alice is about 40 miles west of Corpus Christi.
