Two School Districts Have Bonds Passed; One Fails

Three Brazos Valley school districts decided major school bond issues, but only two ended up passing.

In Snook, a school bond issue was approved for the school district. The $9.7 million package will be used to renovate the high school and middle school, along with the addition a new wing to the elementary school.

Also, voters in the Burton school district approved a $7 million bond issue to pay for a new school, bus barn and other improvements in the district.

However, residents in the Anderson-Shiro Consolidated School District turned down a $22 million bond package for facility repairs and upgrades. The final vote was 52 percent against, 48 percent in favor.
