Brazos Valley Burn Bans: The following counties are under a Burn Ban: Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Washington
The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles Tuesday recommended a delay in Wednesday's scheduled execution of Frances Newton.
The panel is urging Gov. Rick Perry to delay the Houston woman's execution for 120 days.
There was no immediate comment from Perry's office.
Newton was condemned for the 1987 shooting deaths of her husband, Adrian, and two children -- seven-year-old Alton and 20-month-old Farrah -- in an alleged insurance scheme.
Her current attorneys say she had poor representation at trial and retesting should be done on the evidence.
Prosecutors say the claims raise no new issues and were resolved at her trial.
Newton's case also is before the Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals.
She would be the 24th Texas convicted killer to be executed this year.
