Texas Railroad Commissioner, Victor Carrillo, spoke about the Texas energy council's plans for lower the skyrocketing price of gas on Wednesday.

Carrillo says this is a national problem, but there are things that can been done to help right here in Texas.

"The answer to reducing the volatility and stabilizing of these prices is a long term solution, but the more we can do to produce domestically more oil, more natural gas, ultimately that will lower prices," said Carillo

Carrillo also says energy development and conservation are critical to jobs and the economy.
