The task force assigned by Texas A&M University to investigate the deadly July apartment explosion wants more time before it presents its findings.

The report was due to President Robert Gates by mid November, but according to A&M University Relations, the group requested an extension of a few more weeks.

Ther's no word on why the extension was needed.

The accident is being blamed on a gas leak.

Two people died as a result of the explosion, two others were injured.

Dr. Gates asked the group to look at communication problems that may have led to the explosion.

The Brazos County district attorney's office is conducting a criminal investigation into the cause of the explosion.
