Cypress Grove Intermediate School celebrated Veterans Day on Monday by centering all of their classes around the patriotic holiday.
Parents, grandparents and relatives of the students served as guests speakers during the many ceremonies held throughout the day.
An opening ceremony included performances by the sixth grade orchestra and the Cypress Grove choir. Drama students entertained the troops while they ate in the cafeteria, and the Jazz band performed at the closing ceremony titled the "Time of Remembrance."
"I'm a Veteran myself of the United States Air Force, so therefore we feel that it's important no matter what you think about the conflict that America is in, that you support our troops and we support our troops," said Cypress Grove Principal Rick Hill.
The school featured an Armed Forces museum where items from all branches of service were displayed in the main hallway.
Friends and family of the students who served in the Armed Forces were also displayed on the "Wall of Honor" in the school's main hallway.
