Rain & storms are expected in the area through the pre-sunrise hours.
A weekend at the Renaissance Festival ends in tragedy for a LaPorte family. After their son went missing Sunday, family members learned Monday he's never coming home.
The body of Christopher Bridges, 23, was found Monday about 10 a.m.on the side of FM 1774, south of Plantersville, the apparent victim of a hit-and-run. Bridges had been reported missing Sunday after failing to return to his family's campground at the Renaissance Festival. They said the last time they had contact from their son was about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Grimes County Sheriff investigators believe Bridges died between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday. They have located a vehicle that may have been involved in the hit-and-run, but no arrests have been made.
Bridges body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
