Woman Assaulted on Her Doorstep

Updated: Fri 9:45 PM, Dec 03, 2004

A College Station woman was assaulted Thursday night as she took out the trash, and police are still looking for the suspect.

It happened in the 500 block of Boyett Street. As the woman walked out to her apartment's dumpster, she noticed a figure standing on her porch. When she returned from the dumpster and tried to enter her apartment, the man grabbed her from behind and pushed her into her apartment. The victim started screaming, and the man ran away.

The man is described as a black male, around 5'7" or 5'8" with a thin build. He reportedly was wearing a dark-colored, hooded jacket with dark-colored gloves. He possibly was riding a dark-colored bicycle.

A neighbor also reported a man of the same description peering into windows of other apartments in the area.

If you have any information concerning this suspect, you're asked to call College Station Police at 764-3600.
