Annexation Lawsuit Headed to Trial

Updated: Fri 10:40 PM, Dec 03, 2004

A small victory tonight for a local woman who doesn't want to be a Bryan resident. Judge Rick Davis ruled a disannexation lawsuit filed by Karen Hall against the city can go to trial.

The city argued the district court has no jurisdiction in the matter. Davis disagreed saying Hall's case meets the criteria for district court.

Hall is suing to have a stretch of property along Highway 21 east removed from the Bryan city limits. She contends the annexation should be voided because the city failed to provide city services to the area in a timely manner. No trial date has been set.
