Jackson Gives DNA Sample To Authorities

Updated: Sun 4:33 PM, Dec 05, 2004

A source says Michael Jackson voluntarily gave a D-N-A sample to authorities. The pop star faces trial next month on a charge of child
molestation. It's not clear how authorities plan to use the D-N-A.

The source tells The Associated Press that when Sheriff's deputies arrived at Jackson's Neverland Ranch with search warrants Friday, his lawyer instructed him to leave.

Authorities spent more than eight hours at the estate Friday, and less than two hours Saturday.

The source says Jackson returned Saturday and agreed to let Sheriff's deputies take a swab from inside his mouth.

The 46-year-old entertainer has pleaded innocent to charges of
child molestation, conspiracy and administering an intoxicating
agent to his alleged victim. He is scheduled to stand trial January
31st.
