One last round of rain & thunderstorms is moving through the Brazos Valley tonight -- along and ahead of an approaching cold front. Winds upwards of 40mph will be possible along & ahead of this activity. The winds subside once the rain begins, however, a quick 0.25" of an inch of rain is possible and dime size hail cannot be ruled out. These storms should be south of the Brazos Valley by 2am.
The Brazos County Sheriff's Department is one step closer to building a new facility.
Tuesday commissioners set up a committee to oversee the project.
An architect will soon meet with the group to draw up plans.
Sheriff Chris Kirk says the Sheriff's Administration Building will free up much needed space in the court house for other personnel and centralize the operation.
"There won't be some of the redundancies, so it's going to be a great move for us," Kirk says.
There is not a scheduled time line for completion.
