Brazos and Madison Counties have added their names to the list of local counties enacting burn bans.
Thursday, Brazos County Judge Randy Sims signed off on an emergency, seven-day ban. The commissioners court will now bring up a formal ban at its next meeting and each meeting thereafter until the ban is removed.
Madison County Judge Art Henson also issued a ban order for 90 days.
In Leon County, Judge Byron Ryder issued just a burn ban warning and asked residents to "curtail all unnecessary burning effective immediately through November 17. If you do burn please use extreme caution."
Grimes, Washington, Milam and Robertson Counties have also enacted bans.
