A company that donated $50 thousand dollars to a GOP political action committee has agreed to cooperate with a Texas investigation.

The state is looking into possible illegal campaign contributions.

In exchange, charges are being dropped against Diversified
Collections Services.

Details are in a motion approved Friday by a judge in Austin.

Diversified Collections was one of eight corporations accused of
giving a total of $190 thousand dollars to Texans for a Republican
Majority during the 2002 legislative campaign.

The use of corporate money for political purposes is illegal in
Texas.

Three associates of U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of Sugar
Land also have been indicted.

Diversified Collections also agreed to develop internal policies to prevent making illegal corporate political contributions.
