Funeral arrangements are set for a legendary Aggie who died over the weekend.

A private burial for Bum Bright is set for Thursday afternoon, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at The Chapel of the Cross in uptown Dallas.

A delegation headed by President Robert Gates is scheduled to attend the funeral, while the Corps of Cadets' Ross Volunteers will serve as honor guard.

Bright died Saturday at his Highland Park home after a long illness. He was 84.

Bright was a longtime member of the Texas A&M Board of Regents, including four years as chairman.

The class of '43 grad donated an unprecedented $25 million to A&M and early this year, the Bright Football Complex was dedicated in his honor.

He also owned the Dallas Cowboys from 1984 to 1989.
