Next month several local law enforcement officers will head to Washington D.C. as extra security for the president's inauguration.
Tuesday, the county approved the out of town trip for 26 sheriff's deputies.
It all started when some College Station police heard the Washington Metro Police needed more officers for security during the event.
They told the Sheriff's Department and Bryan Police Department about the opportunity.
All three agencies will be in D.C. to back up the president and make sure everything runs smoothly.
