A Huntsville woman accused of embezzling money from her church, turned herself into authorities.
Laure Pegoda is charged with stealing more than $250,000 over three years from the University Heights Baptist Church.
Pegoda served as the finance secretary for the church.
Police say Pegoda diverted church checks to an unauthorized credit card account in her name.
She has been released from jail on personal recognizance.
