Grimes County Commissioners are now involved in the scandal surrounding the District Clerk. The Commissioner's Court is pushing to get current District Clerk, Wayne Rucker, removed from office.

Commissioners voted unanimously Monday, to ask the Texas Attorney General to step in and remove Rucker.

County Judge James Dixon said the decision was based on an audit that he said turned up thousands of dollars missing from Rucker's office.

Rucker was unavailable for comment Tuesday, but said recently that he did nothing wrong and plans to run for re-election in 2006. Rucker is also the target of a wrongful termination lawsuit and a sexual harrassment complaint.
