Residents in North Bryan will get to see the re-opening of Sims Avenue in the near future.
The Bryan City Council approved a funding agreement with TxDot to reconstruct a portion of the street in between Highway 21 and North Texas Avenue.
Sims Avenue has remained closed because of construction to raise the railroad tracks that pass over it. The railroad work is part of the Highway 21 widening project.
Council agreed to pay no more than 125-thousand dollars toward the reconstruction.
