First American Bank Headquarters to Move

A local banking institution is heading to the metroplex. Citigroup has filed with regulators to move its headquarters from Bryan to Dallas-Fort Worth.

Mark Rodgers, Citigroup spokesman, said the move will add to their existing presence in Dallas as well as make it more convenient for travel.

Rodgers says the move has nothing to do with Citigroup's commitment to Bryan-College Station.

In a memo to First American employees, Citigroup announced, "The change of address for our headquarters will be transparent to employees, our customers, and the community and will have no impact on your employment status or the location of your job.”

In August, First American Bank CEO Don Adam announced he was selling his company to Citigroup.

Two hundred employees from First American have already been notified they will be laid off in the next year.
