Highway 6 Re-Opens

A major accident shuts down a portion of Highway 6 for nearly four hours. One driver is rushed to the hospital from the scene.

The accident happened just before three Friday afternoon. Police say, a green pick-up truck hit a College Station Utilities vehicle near Briarcrest Drive. The driver of the green truck, Katie Brownfield, was rushed to the hospital. She remains hospitalized and is in stable condition.

During clean-up all southbound traffic was re-routed to the access road between University Drive and the Boonville exit. Police opened the highway just after 7pm Friday night. They say Brownfield will be ticketed for speeding.
