The city of Bryan is undecided on a contractor to build the proposed visitor center.
Bidding closed Wednesday, and all are over the $400,000 budget the city has available for the center. Planners said the next step is to go to the city council and city manager for suggestions on how to find extra funding.
TxDot plans to have a transportation museum in the visitor center so it will give the city an 80% reimbursement.
Planners hope to open the facility near downtown by January 2006.
