Regents officially appointed the new chancellor of the Texas A&M System Thursday.
Dr. Bob McTeer was named as the sole finalist in October.
A 21-day waiting period was required by the state before McTeer could be appointed to the position.
McTeer plans to begin his new job early this month. McTeer will earn $450,000 annually as the chancellor. His total compensation package has not been finalized.
Interm Chancellor Benton Cocanougher will resume his former position at the Mays School of Business.
