Elementary Kids in Calvert Will Stay Where They Are

Up the road in Calvert, students are deserting for other schools.

But one administrator’s answer to the problem was turned down by the school board in October.

Superintendent Morris Ogden wanted to move the elementary students to a different facility. He believes inferior buildings are part of the reason students are leaving. His plan would have moved K through fourth graders to a newer location with fifth and sixth graders relocating to the high school.

Ogden said the school board voted against it.
