Several Brazos Valley charities will receive part of a $13 million state grant for food and shelter providers.
Governor Rick Perry announced the gift Thursday. The funds are a part of $153 million being handed out nationwide.
Local beneficiaries include the United Way, the Salvation Army, and Catholic Charities.
The following is the amount of money each county is receiving:
Brazos County $34,501
Burleson County $8,922
Grimes County $12,178
Robertson County $7,642
Washington County $11,444
