NEW YORK -- Unseasonably balmy weather greeted the marchers and spectators lining the streets of Manhattan for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

It was sunny and almost 60 degrees when the parade kicked off Thursday morning, featuring 10,000 marchers -- half of them Macy's

The lineup for the 81st annual parade included three new balloons, 2,000 cheerleaders, 800 clowns, the Radio City Rockettes and 11 marching bands. Among the bands is one from Virginia Tech, playing in tribute to the victims of last spring's campus shooting.

The three new balloons are Shrek, Sesame Street's Abby Cadabby and Hello Kitty Supercute.
