AUSTIN (AP) - Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee says he could help Rick Perry find alternative housing while the Texas Governor's Mansion is being renovated.
How about a triplewide mobile home?
Huckabee -- a Republican presidential candidate -- was in town Monday for a private fundraiser with an entry fee of $1,000 per couple.
Back in 2000, the Huckabees spent 16 months in a triplewide on the grounds of the Arkansas Governor's Mansion while it was being renovated.
Perry has been staying in a $10,000-a-month rental home during renovations on the Texas Governor's Mansion.
Perry says the 6,300-square-foot home is appropriate considering his protective detail and entertaining requirements.
Perry has been campaigning for Huckabee's rival, Rudy Giuliani.
Perry made it clear earlier this month that he had no interest in living in a triplewide, quipping that "Texas ain't Arkansas."
