Bleeding Maroon For U.S. Troops

Aggies are rolling up their sleeves to help support U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Tuesday through Thursday, members of the Corps of Cadets are participating in the "Bleed Maroon" blood drive.

Officials from the Department of Defense Armed Services Blood Program are on the Texas A&M campus collecting blood that will go to servicemen and women fighting overseas.

The "Bleed Maroon" drive is in memory of Chad Burnett, a member of the Corps of Cadets and commissioned Air Force officer, who was killed in a non-combat related death in 2002. Burnett's father, Newton "Noot" Burnett, is a member of the Brazos de Dios Harley Owner's Group, who helped make the blood drive possible.
