For drivers who have had to brave the major construction on Villa Maria Road in Bryan, the end is in sight.
At Tuesday afternoon's city council meeting, officials said by the end of January, traffic will be able to drive the newly-constructed underpass, which goes under the railroad tracks at Finfeather Road.
Bryan Public Works Director Linda Huff also told the council residents could expect the entire project to be complete by late March or April.
It's a project that has been on the radar of Bryan residents since 1984, when voters initially approved the underpass project, which also includes an expansion of Wellborn Road.
In total, the TxDOT project was tabbed at $11.3 million. Construction finally got underway on it in August 2004.
